El Festival RIZOMA está muy orgulloso de haber ayudado a descubrir al emergente director español Carlos Vermut y esperamos con impaciencia ver crecer su carrera. Después de varios años como autor de cómic, Vermut escribió, dirigió, produjo y autofinanció su primer largometraje, DIAMOND FLASH.
Después de las primeras proyecciones en los festivales de Sitges y Abycine, DIAMOND FLASH ganó el Premio RIZOMA de Distribución, otorgando a la película una distribución nacional y asegurando su visibilidad. Después de alcanzar el récord de visionados en Filmin, de la edición especial en DVD por Cameo y de convertirse en ‘trending topic’ en Twitter, DIAMOND FLASH terminó en varias listas ‘Top 10 2012’, y tanto críticos como público quedaron sorprendidos por igual. DIAMOND FLASH ha sido, indudablemente, el “indie hit” de España en 2012.
En febrero de 2013, Vermut anuncia que comenzará el rodaje de su segundo largometraje en julio de 2013. Mas información aquí.
Esta es la finalidad del Premio RIZOMA de Distribución de películas: promocionar y sacar a la luz trabajos excepcionales, apoyar a los creadores económicamente mediante canales de distribución profesionales y ayudar a que se realice su siguiente película.

The Rizoma Festival is very proud to have helped discover emerging Spanish film director Carlos Vermut and look forward to watching his career grow.
After working for years as a comic book artist, Vermut wrote, directed, produced and self-financed his first feature DIAMOND FLASH.
After initial screenings at the Sitges and Abycine Film Festivals, DIAMOND FLASH won the Rizoma Film Distribution Prize and was propelled into the spotlight. After record downloads, a special DVD box set, becoming trendy topic on twitter, ending up on several ‘top 10’ lists and surprising critics and audiences alike, DIAMOND FLASH was undoubtedly Spain’s indie hit of 2012.
In Feburary of 2013 Vermut announces that his second feature is slated to shoot in July of 2013. Read here.
